Raj Kumar and Priya, a young couple, reached out to us as they were preparing to rent out their home for the first time. As often happens, once they removed wall art that had been attached with double-sided tape, the real condition of the walls was revealed.
There were numerous damaged areas: scratched paint, torn drywall paper, spots where the paint and joint compound had been pulled all the way down to the drywall.

In addition, several doors were scuffed and needed repainting, there were cracks in the walls that required repair, and the bathtub needed to be properly sealed with silicone.

At first, this looked like a collection of small repair tasks — exactly the kind of detailed handyman work we handle regularly. We agreed on the scope of work and moved forward.
The challenge started with paint matching. The homeowners didn’t have leftover paint, so we repaired all damaged areas step by step: patching, sanding, re-patching, applying texture, and priming to ensure a proper finish.

To get the best possible color match, we worked with Sherwin-Williams, our long-term partner. As a professional contractor, we have special pricing, a credit line, and a dedicated Sherwin-Williams representative who consults on-site, helps select finishes, and ensures top product quality.
Even with all that, the custom-mixed paint came out slightly different from the existing wall color. Once we started painting the repaired areas, the mismatch was noticeable. At that point, there was only one right solution: repaint the walls fully, from corner to corner and floor to ceiling.
As a result, what began as touch-ups turned into repainting an entire three-story, 2,400 sq ft home. The amount of paint increased from 5 gallons to 11 gallons, with one extra gallon left for future tenant touch-ups.

This significantly increased the amount of labor and materials — but it did not change the agreed project price. We completed the entire job for the price stated in the signed contract. That’s how we work.
Our contracts allow for up to a 10% increase in minor tasks without additional charges, because we don’t bill clients for every small brush stroke. Only major scope changes are discussed and adjusted fairly, and always transparently. In this case, we honored the original agreement.
For this project, the clients chose Sherwin-Williams’ most premium paint, specifically for durability and long-term performance, which is an important decision for a rental property that needs to look good year after year.
In the end, the home was fully refreshed, ready for tenants, and the clients were extremely satisfied.
This project also helped us refine our own process. We now take extra time testing smaller paint samples before ordering large quantities, ensuring the best possible match and result.
If you’re looking for a contractor who values honesty, quality materials, and long-term results, and who stands by their word even when the work becomes more complex — we’d be happy to help with your project.
